LaLiga: Ancelotti confirms three key Real Madrid players to start against Cadiz

Ahead of a pivotal match that could potentially see Real Madrid crowned champions, manager Carlo Ancelotti has revealed the starting lineup, with Thibaut Courtois, Eder Militao, and Arda Guler all slated to feature prominently against Cadiz.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Ancelotti affirmed Guler’s inclusion, highlighting Courtois’s return to action after an extended absence.

He stated, “Yes, he’s fine. Tomorrow he will play after a long time. It’s good news that he’s back, just like Militao. He can contribute, he’s fine, he’s very excited. We’re delighted that he’s back.”

However, Ancelotti clarified that Andriy Lunin would take the goalkeeping duties in the midweek clash against Bayern Munich, dismissing speculations of Courtois reclaiming the position for the Champions League fixture.

He added, “The final we have in mind is Wednesday against Bayern, where Lunin will play. Then, we’ll see.”

Reflecting on the defensive lapses against Bayern Munich, Ancelotti stressed the need for a more assertive approach from the team. While avoiding specific mentions of individual changes, he hinted at adjustments to enhance the team’s aggression.

“I’m not talking about individuals. The team, in my opinion, was too passive against Bayern. We have to be more aggressive. I told the players as much,” Ancelotti remarked, indicating Militao’s inclusion against Cadiz to regain momentum.
