Real Madrid secured their 36th La Liga title on Saturday with a 3-0 win over Cadiz, and Luka Modric etched his name in the history books in the process.
The Croatian midfielder, who played the full 90 minutes, became the oldest outfield player to feature for Los Blancos in La Liga at 38 years and 238 days old.
Modric’s record-breaking appearance surpassed Ferenc Puskas, who had held the previous record since 1965 at 38 years and 233 days.
The 2018 Ballon d’Or winner has been a mainstay at Real Madrid since his arrival in 2012 from Tottenham Hotspur.
Meanwhile, goals from Brahim Diaz, Jude Bellingham and Joselu gave Carlo Ancelotti’s the victory over Cadiz
