Super Eagles attacker, Victor Boniface has recounted the most painful moment in his football career.
According to the Bayer Leverkusen star, missing the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast was one of the most painful moments of his career.
Recall that Boniface was included in Super Eagles final squad for the tournament but had to withdraw from the list after suffering an adductor injury.
“It was difficult, one of the most painful moments of my career – not only the injury itself, but of course also my absence from the Africa Cup of Nations and some important Bundesliga games,” Boniface said, according Transfermarkt.
“But that is football, you have ups, you have downs. It’s about your attitude, your mindset. You need the right people around you in moments like this. I had the support of the club – that was important.”
Boniface recently won the German Bundesliga title with Bayer Leverkusen.
His team is currently in the UEFA Europa league semi-final stage where they will face AS Roma.
