Sabalenka had won the 2023 final in three sets but it was Swiatek who triumphed this time to secure her 20th career title and deny the Belarusian a third title on the red clay of the Spanish capital.
  3. Ipswich has gained promotion to the Premier League after beating Huddersfield 2-0 on Saturday.
    Goals from Wes Burns and Omari Hutchinson ensured their fate, and the Tractor Boys have now achieved an unprecedented back-to-back promotion.
  4. Arsenal paid tribute to Nigerian teenage schoolboy, Daniel Anjorin, who was killed on Tuesday in a sword attack in London on Tuesday, during their home game against Bournemouth on Saturday. Arsenal were given permission by the teenager’s family to pay their respects and applause rang round the Emirates Stadium after 14 minutes.
  5. Manchester City on Sunday thrashed Wolves 5-1 to close the gap in the Premier League title race with Arsenal to just one point. Erling Haaland’s four goals ensured Pep Guardiola’s side defeated Wolves at Etihad Stadium.
