Sports Newspapers: 5 things you need to know this Sunday morning

Good morning! Here is today’s summary from Sports:

  1. Chelsea boosted their chances of European football next season in dramatic fashion as they scored twice in two minutes to secure a late 3-2 win at Nottingham Forest, who are still all-but safe from relegation. Mykhailo Mudryk, Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Jackson all scored for Mauricio Pochettino’s side against the host.
  2. Lauren Price enhanced her glistening and ever-unfolding legacy once more as she defeated Jessica McCaskill to become Wales’ first female boxing world champion in Cardiff on Saturday night. The contest was brought to a halt at the start of the ninth round due to a nasty swollen eye that McCaskill had seemingly sustained during an earlier clash of heads, with the judges ruling the fight 90-82, 90-82, 90-82 in favour of Price.
  3. Manchester City took a significant step closer to a fourth successive Premier League title as Josko Gvardiol’s double moved them top of the table with an emphatic 4-0 win at Fulham. Two wins will be enough to guarantee City a fourth title in as many years but they could wrap up the league as soon as Tuesday at Tottenham if Arsenal fail to win at Manchester United on Sunday
  4. Rafael Nadal’s hopes of an 11th Italian Open title are over after defeat to world number nine Hubert Hurkacz. In what is likely to be the Spaniard’s final appearance in Rome, Nadal, 37, was comfortably beaten 6-1 6-3 by the big-serving Pole in just 93 minutes.
  5. Burnley have been relegated from the Premier League after they could not secure a win at Tottenham Hotspur which would have kept their hopes alive. Two goals from Pedro Porro and Micky van de Ven send Burnley back to the Championship as they loss 2-1.
