  1. Real Madrid on Saturday night won this season’s UEFA Champions League trophy after beating Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in the final Wembley Stadium in London. Two goals from Dani Carvajal and Vinicius Jr. gave the Los Blancos the victory.
  2. Novak Djokovic came through a five-set epic against Italy’s Lorenzo Musetti at the French Open, which ended at 03:07 local time in Paris. In a third-round contest that did not get under way until 22:37 on Saturday, towards the end of a rain-affected day at Roland Garros, the defending champion fought back from two sets to one down to win 7-5 6-7 (6-8) 2-6 6-3 6-0.
  3. Australian Minjee Lee carded an impressive four-under-par round of 66 to join American Andrea Lee and Thailand’s Wichanee Meechai in a three-way tie for the lead after the third round of the US Women’s Open.The 28-year-old former champion, who won her second major title at the 2022 US Open, equalled the best round of the week at Lancaster Country Club in Pennsylvania to move up to five under.
  4. Britain’s Daniel Dubois took a huge step towards heavyweight world title contention after stopping IBF mandatory challenger Filip Hrgovic in the eighth round of their fight in Riyadh on Sunday. Referee John Latham intervened 57 seconds into the round on doctors’ advice at the Kingdom Arena with the big Croatian bleeding from cuts over the eyes.
  5. Aryna Sabalenka secured a hard-fought victory over best friend Paula Badosa at the French Open on Saturday, while Elena Rybakina joined her in the fourth round. Sabalenka and Spaniard Badosa have enjoyed a strong bond since 2021 but there was no quarter given as the world No 2 kept alive her hopes of a maiden Roland Garros title with a 7-5 6-1 victory
