  1. Real Madrid will play Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final on June 1 at Wembley. This was possible after the LaLiga champions defeated Bayern Munich 2-1 in the Champions League semi-final second leg tie on Wednesday night.
  2. The former head of the Spanish football federation, Luis Rubiales, will stand trial for sexual assault over his unsolicited kissing of Women’s World Cup player Jenni Hermoso. A Spanish High Court judge said on Wednesday Mr Rubiales was also facing one charge of coercion.
  3. Oxford made it through to the Sky Bet League One play-off final after a 2-1 aggregate win over Peterborough. Leading 1-0 heading into the second leg, Oxford secured a 1-1 draw at the Weston Homes Stadium to reach Wembley.
  4. Naomi Osaka beat France’s Clara Burel in straight sets in the Italian Open first round on her first appearance at the tournament since 2021. Former world number one Osaka won 7-6 (7-2) 6-1 against Burel, who is ranked 45th in the world.
  5. Bayer Leverkusen will face AS Roma in the UEFA Europa League semi-final second leg clash on Thursday night, while Atalanta will tackle Marseille. Leverkusen won 2-0 against Roma in the first leg last week in Italy, while Marseille played 1-1 with Atalanta.
