In front of a passionate home crown hoping to see the five-time champion conjure a fairy-tale run deep into the second week in what is expected to be his last appearance at the event, 30th seed Lehecka spoiled the party with a 7-5 6-4 victory in just over two hours.
- Enyimba have been ducked two points by the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, for the disruption of their game against Doma United. The points deduction was sequel to the NFF disciplinary committee decision to upturned the victory that Enyimba had over Doma United.
- Punches were thrown when a brawl broke out between the Tampa Bay Rays and Milwaukee Brewers in the eighth inning Tuesday night. The fracas ensued after Jose Siri grounded out against Brewers pitcher Abner Uribe leading off the inning. Uribe and Siri exchanged words near first base and things quickly became heated.
- Borussia Dortmund will on Wednesday night clash with Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg tie. The match will take place at Signal Iduna Park.
