  1. Manchester City beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 on Tuesday night, to stand on the verge of winning the Premier League title for a fourth consecutive season. Erling Haaland’s brace and Stefan Ortega’s brilliant save ensured Pep Guardiola’s side defeated Tottenham.
  2. World number one Iga Swiatek breezed into the semi-finals of the Italian Open with a straight-set victory over 18th seed Madison Keys. The 22-year-old Pole, who took the title in Rome in 2021 and 2022, wrapped up the 6-1 6-3 win in 77 minutes.
  3. Aston Villa have qualified for the Champions League for the first time after top-four rivals Tottenham Hotspur lost 2-0 to Manchester City on Tuesday. Tottenham had been the only team who could have overtaken Villa into fourth before Tuesday, but are now five points behind Unai Emery’s side with one game remaining.
  4. Cleveland Browns safety Rodney McLeod said he plans to retire following the 2024 NFL season. McLeod, who turns 34 in June, missed the last seven games of the 2023 campaign with a biceps injury.
  5. The West African Football Union (WAFU) B U17 tournament will kick-off on Wednesday (today) in Ghana, showcasing the region’s budding football talent. This year’s competition will run from 15-28 May, and only the top two teams will qualify for the next edition of the  Africa U-17 Cup of Nations that will take place in 2025.
