Super Eagles: ‘Look at  Senegal’ – Troost-Ekong reveals coach he wants to manage Nigeria’s national team

Super Eagles centre-back,  William Troost-Ekong has revealed he would prefer a local coach to manage Nigeria’s national football team..

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, are expected to name a substantive head coach for the Super Eagles in the coming weeks.

Recall the Jose Peseiro left the post at the end of February this year.

The likes of former Under-17 coach Emmanuel Amuneke as well as two foreign coaches Domenec Torrent and Antonio Conceicao are said to be in the running for the job.

However, when asked by former Nigeria international Segun Odegbami on his preferred choice during a radio programme on Eagles FM on Saturday morning, Troost-Ekong said:

“I think that will be the ideal situation for our team to be honest.

“I said that because i have seen Senegal for example, what they achieve with their coach. Ivory Coast now, they changed their coach at the middle of the tournament.

“There is something that has to be said about a coach understanding about a culture of a country, players and daily route having been there before as a player, playing at the AFCON.”
