Arsenal legend, Ian Wright has urged the Gunners to sign a player similar to Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vitinha’s profile.
He made the request after Arsenal’s elimination from the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal stages at the hands of Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.
Recall that Bayern defeated Mikel Arteta’s side 1-0 at the Allianz Arena and progress to the semi-final stage on a 3-2 aggregate win, having played a 2-2 draw in the first leg at the Emirates.
However, Wright believes Arsenal need to improve their midfield and has urged the Premier League North London club to sign a player like Vitinha, insisting that he’s the ‘X factor’.
“Do you know what I was saying, what I was alluding to a little bit. A player like Vitinha from PSG,” Wright said (via The Boot Room) when speaking about the player Arsenal should sign.
“I know you are saying about Odegaard and Rice, but you are talking about someone with the X factor we need. We have a load of good players, but that X factor, out of the blue, bang, we need to find that man.”
