Transfer: Kompany to make Arsenal player his first signing for Bayern Munich

New Bayern Munich manager, Vincent Kompany is keen to bring Arsenal’s Oleksandr Zinchenko to the Bundesliga club as his inaugural signing for the team.

Bayern Munich are preparing to overhaul their current squad this summer after a turbulent season, where they failed to win the Bundesliga title and also the Champions League.

According to reports from the Mirror, Kompany is interested in signing Zinchenko.

Kompany and Zinchenko were former teammates during their time at Manchester City.

Zinchenko, who joined Arsenal almost two years ago, quickly became a fan favorite for his performance in an inverted left-back role that bolstered the Gunners’ title challenge.

However, as opposition teams adapted to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s tactics, Zinchenko’s defensive weaknesses were increasingly exposed, leading to a noticeable decline in his form last season.

The Ukrainian slipped a third-choice left-back position at Arsenal, behind the likes of Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jakub Kiwior towards the end of the season.
