Jose Mourinho has been officially appointed as the new manager of Fenerbahce, where he will coach Super Eagles defender Bright Osayi-Samuel.
Osayi-Samuel made headlines last season when he punched a pitch-invading fan during a Turkish Super Lig match against Trabzonspor.
Although Fenerbahce won the match 3-2, the victory was overshadowed by the incident at the end.
The Nigerian international, who has been with Fenerbahce since 2021, acted swiftly by striking the intruder.
Mourinho, known for valuing passionate and committed players, is expected to appreciate Osayi-Samuel’s fervent playing style.
Despite suffering only one league defeat last season, Fenerbahce’s six draws cost them the title, which went to Galatasaray.
