Former Aston Villa midfielder, Nigel Reo-Coker has urged Liverpool to include Darwin Nunez in a swap deal to lure Napoli’s Victor Osimhen or Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface away this summer.
Reo-Coker believes the Reds will lose Mohamed Salah this summer, adding Jurgen Klopp’s side should go for the Nigerians.
Recall that Nunezo left Benfica to join Liverpool in a potential £85 million deal in 2022.
The Uruguay international has received a lot of criticism for his poor finishing of late.
Nunez has missed 26 big chances in 33 Premier League matches this season.
“I was Liverpool, yes, you are going to lose [Mohamed] Salah, you can probably find a good enough replacement, but for me, it’s that goalscorer,” Reo-Coker said (h/t TBR).
“Nunez, it’s either you give him another chance or you try now to trade him with another club where you could maybe swap Nunez and bring in some top European strikers out there, whether that is Victor Boniface, Osimhen or [someone].”
