Wayne Rooney agrees three-year deal as he returns to management

Former Manchester United captain, Wayne Rooney is set to join Plymouth Argyle as their next manager.

The Englishman will put pen to paper to paper on a three-year contract with the Championship club.

The 38-year-old has been out of work since he was sacked at Birmingham City.

Plymouth need a new manager after sacking Ian Foster after just three months in charge, following a run of eight losses in 11 games.

The Pilgrims did manage to rally after his departure and avoided relegation into League One.

Transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, tweeted Friday night: “Plymouth Argyle are set to appoint Wayne Rooney as new head coach, deal done.

“Three year contract for Rooney to be signed over the weekend, as first called by @JPercyTelegraph.”
