West Ham announces departure of David Moyes, initiates search for successor

In a statement unveiled on Monday evening, West Ham United disclosed the forthcoming exit of David Moyes by mutual agreement as his tenure culminates with the conclusion of the 2023/24 season.

Following a tenure extending over four and a half years at the London Stadium, Moyes departs, leaving a legacy distinguished by two noteworthy top-seven Premier League placements.

Additionally, his stewardship witnessed commendable journeys in the UEFA Europa League, advancing to both semi and quarter-finals.

The pinnacle of Moyes’ reign unfolded last season with a momentous triumph in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

West Ham seized victory with a 2-1 conquest over ACF Fiorentina in Prague, securing their inaugural major trophy since the 1980 FA Cup and their first European glory since 1965.

As Moyes’ departure looms, West Ham has initiated the quest for his successor, signifying the dawn of a fresh chapter for the club.

“West Ham United can confirm David Moyes will leave the Club by mutual consent at the end of the 2023/24 season, when his contract expires,” excerpted a portion of West Ham’s statement.
