What Vincent Kompany said after being appointed Bayern Munich’s new manager

Bayern Munich officially confirmed Vincent Kompany as their new manager on Wednesday.

Kompany signed a three-year contract with the former Bundesliga champions.

The Belgian will replace Thomas Tuchel who stepped down from the role at the end of this summer.

Bayern Munich will pay £10 million to Burnley to release Kompany from his contract.

“I’m really looking forward to the challenge at FC Bayern,” Kompany said in a statement.

“It’s a great honour to be able to work for this club — FC Bayern is an institution in international football.”
